Bagas an Norvys - St ives' band of the world!
Keeping Cornish community traditions alive in the 21st Century
We are the proud leaders of St.Ives Civic Band, which we named Bagas an Norvys (Band of the World).
We lead several community processions each year on behalf of St.Ives Town Council, including St.Ives Feast, May Day and the Mayor's Choosing.
We play a mix of traditional and contemporary tunes from all over Cornwall and work with local schools to enable them to come and dance.
We are an inclusive group that welcomes new members.

Cornish music
We play tunes handed down by our predecessors, including "Bodmin Riding", first collected in Cornwall in the 1400s. To these, we add contemporary tunes written by our very own St Ives composer

We work with the local schools to enable them to join in on community celebrations such as May Day, above
