We're establishing a nature-friendly community garden and food growing haven
We're in great company at our beautiful site just outside of Penzance
We run free workshops for all ages on topics such as food growing, tree planting and care, orchard establishment, as well as creative art and music

Making new friends at our community day in July 2023. We plan another event later in this year to celebrate our 2025 workshop programme (photo: Oli Riley)
One of our young volunteers inspecting a new sign at the entrance to our field. We're firmly on the radar of local groups such as Whole Again Communities, Pentreath, Youth Cornwall and A Band of Brothers, all of whom have already been actively involved on site.
We hope this badger approves of what we're up to. We'll always provide a place of safety - and quite likely additional food.sources :) We will always respect its right to be here, along with the roe deer, owls, foxes, dragonflies, ladybirds, swallows, stonechats, buzzards, red kites, sparrows and all that will come to our new ponds :)
We are opening up our little patch of countryside for all to enjoy. Parking, paths, ponds, seating, some food growing plots - and loos - are all being designed with the less mobile in mind. Do get in contact if this is something you could assist us with
We aim to feed into the local food supply in a way that respects people and the planet as one. Some of our first produce above... along with rainbow chard, leeks and coriander. This year we plan to plant an area of Cornish oats and a "Three sisters" plot with beans, corn and squashes.
We are creating a welcoming space in which individuals and groups can participate in projects focused on sustainable healthy food production and other nature enhancing activities beneficial to the local community and to the planet. (photo: Oli Riley)
We are applying permaculture principles - "Earth Care, People Care and Fair Share" - to guide all that takes place on the site. We aim to respect and reflect the needs and desires of local communities in an inclusive way, while focusing on nature-friendly activities aimed at promoting health and well-being in an outdoor environment.
Badgers Food Forest CIC acts as a host and facilitator for a range of on-site activities. We are open to groups and individuals wishing to work within our ethos, whether as experienced growers/practitioners or those starting from scratch and wanting to learn by working alongside others. And there's always scope to simply immerse in this quiet rural setting, complete with its stunning views of Mounts Bay and West Cornwall. If you'd like to get involved, please email us on badgersfoodforest@gmail.com
