Gavin''s comments: I would like to respectfully dedicate this film to the people of Newlyn. I also give a nod to my father, James (Jim) Nicol (1939-2021), who owned the Rosebud (renamed Cynthia Yvonne) much later on, operating her from Hayle Quay during a few of her latter years - and my early ones. I remember her well
Though dad was told something about his boat having travelled to London, it wasn't until many years later that we found out all about her illustrious past
On which note, I gratefully acknowledge Mike Sagar Fenton’s excellent book “The Rosebud and the Newlyn Clearances” (Truran 2003) as the primary source of factual information used in producing the soundtrack for this film. It’s a gripping read – I thoroughly recommend you get hold of a copy
